As the elected Mayor of the community, I would like to extend a warm welcome to all of you. Mastihari is a quiet, typically Greek, fishing village with a beautiful beach, where anyone can bathe or walk along in quiet meditation. Mastihari is filled with numerous restaurants with varied menus and is within easy travelling distance of every kind of entertainment. We wish you a fun filled, warm and unforgettable stay in our beautiful village.

THE CONCEPT OF OUR SERVICE
I first visited Mastihari thirteen years ago to 'house sit' for a friend who was away in the U.S.A.. I instantly fell in love with the village and its attendent qualities which epitomise the Greek way of life. Sadly, these very qualities which first attracted me to the Island are now vanishing under the onslaught of mass tourism. To preserve the delights of Mastihari, a radical approach was required, hence the concept of our service was born. This is a genuine partnership with the local community, we take great pride in ensuring the money you spend with us, goes into the local economy for the benefit of the whole community. By playing our part in the social and economic fabric of the village, Mastihari will remain unspoilt. For your part, you will experience the open arms and hearts of the villagers who are delighted that you will embrace and respect their customs, traditions and way of life. In return, they offer you the chance to share for the time you are with them, the 'magic' which is Mastihari.

ANCIENT HOUSE CULTURAL CENTRE
We are pleased to announce that the Ancient House Cultural centre is now open. This wonderful venue is an exact working replica of a middle class prosperous merchants villa and estate as it would have been in approx 400 BC.
Full details are included in the notes we send out to you prior to departure. This unique centre will also be the base for our 2010 Activity Holiday Programme, however we will be offering a limited programme at this venue in 2009 as follows:
POTTERY 5 DAY COURSE 10.00 till 13.00 DAILY
June 15th - 19th : July 14th - 18th : August 18th - 22nd : Sept 8th - 12th
PEBBLE/MOSIAC 3 DAY COURSE 10.00 till 13.00 DAILY

JOBS IN MASTIHARI FOR 2009 SEASON
ACTIVITY TUTORS REQUIRED FOR 2010 SEASON
If you are able to teach a three or four day couse in an activity or hobby, we would be pleased to hear from you as we will shortly be preparing our 2010 programme, which will be conducted in the unique and inspiring setting of the new Cultural Centre. By being a tutor, it enables you to have an accommodation free holiday, whilst passing on your knowledge to fellow enthusiasts.
We would be delighted to hear from you if you can offer any subject, but we especially need the following areas:
YOGA, BIRD WATCHING, STAR GAZING, WALKING, ARTS & CRAFTS.
We would also welcome enquiries from Amateur Theatre groups who would like to do drama classes culminating in putting on a play in our amphitheatre.

TRAVELLING TO KALIMYNOS ISLAND ?
If you are travellimg to Kalimynos, then Mastihari is the departure point for the ferry over to the Island. If you require accommodation overnight in the village prior to catching the ferry or before departure from Kos airport, then we can help you.

CREDIT CRUNCH SPECIALS
We are all too aware of the problems that the 'credit crunch' is causing, to help counteract this, for 2009 we shall be offering a special service, this will include two return flights, accommodation, breakfast and three course evening meal. This will enable you to budget for your visit and give you 'peace of mind' in knowing the essentials are all taken care of.
If you would like details of this service, please mention it when asking for a quote, we will then give you a second quote including this option, enabling you to compare and decide.
WEDDING ARRANGEMENT SERVICE
If you are thinking of getting married on the Island, the village offers a fully comprehensive service. We will also handle the 'paperwork' nightmare that puts many people off. We also refuse to do 'conveyor belt' weddings, therefore we restrict ourselves to about six weddings a year. We now only have a couple of vacancies left for 2009 though we still have good availbility for 2010, so please do not hesitate to contact us for a no obligation discussion.
